Messages from Spirit: Shine Your Light

Your light is so much more than your troubles. Your being is so much more than your troubles. Your essence is so much more than your troubles.

Don’t forget that each of you, at your core, is a divine wise being of light. Each of you has so much more to offer the world than you often give yourselves credit for.

Each of you has a unique light, a unique essence and expression solely your own. You are part of the greater light and you are also here to shine in only the way you can shine.

So as the Song Birds Sing: Cycles of Soul

There is something magical about waking up to the sounds of the jungle when it’s springtime. It begins anywhere from 4:30-5:30 when the first rooster decides to crow and others begin to answer back. Then the song birds sing as dark shifts to dawn. The hens cluck, the chicks peep, the pigs grunt in return from their nighttime forays.

Sometimes there are noises unidentifiable to me that sound rather fantastical as if the jungle is also a secret veil which masks wild things and strange beasts and mythical creatures from hidden realms.

In Search of My Original Self

The day started off with sunshine, but has quickly turned to gray. I think it’s going to be a rainy Easter, which is not unusual for spring on the island.

My husband and I have a few special things planned. Making deviled eggs like my mom used to make. Baking a cake. Doing a little ritual to celebrate rebirth, transitions, and resurrection. We both love this time of year: it takes him back to his Catholic roots and brings me into the space of Christ Consciousness and unconditional love. Also, the nature lover in me smiles at the gifts of the earth, and the signs of spring all around.

The earth is waking up, and I feel myself wanting to wake with her.

A Life of Appreciation is A Life Well Lived

It is a beautiful spring day outside. Butterflies abound. Flower are opening up. A slight breeze is helping lift the heat, which suddenly returned to the island last weekend.

We’ve fallen into a quarantine routine in my household, which is much harder on my husband (who does not like to be contained) than it is on me. I already work from home, and other than my deep need to go be out in nature, I can be quite introverted and hibernate-y when I’m in writer’s mode.

Uncontained: Finding Myself in a Pandemic

It has taken a couple weeks to assess and understand how I’m feeling in the midst of the pandemic.

As an empath, I feel like some part of myself just went into overload and hasn’t known what, how, or when to feel these past few weeks, let alone energetically separate out what my feelings are verses others.

I suppose that’s why I feeling such a deep need to return to myself at this time and anchor into my inner guidance and spiritual connection in as many ways as I can.

The Light of The Akashic Records

It’s not so much that I found the Akashic Records, it’s more that they found me.

Back in 2014, I heard by word of mouth about a woman who did Akashic Records readings. I didn’t know much about them, but I was open to dialoguing with spirit in new ways, and when my friend told me how powerful and helpful her reading was, I decided to reach out and see about doing one myself.

A week later I found myself sitting in a dark, quiet room at a yoga studio as the woman across from me told me about how we can access our unique soul wisdom, stored at an energetic level, through our Akashic Records.

Staying Centered in Uncertain Times

Lately it feels like things are changing on a moment by moment basis. The pandemic has tossed life upside down, and we are all navigating into unknown terrain.

I’ve been so many shades and tones these past few weeks. One moment feeling positive and can-do, the next grappling with financial anxieties and long-term implications.

As a transformational teacher, I’ve struggled to find my voice and how best to show up and offer support. As an empath, I’ve struggled to maintain my energetic boundaries and separate out my feelings from the collectives. As a grief teacher, I’m realizing the magnitude of loss, and it’s triggered a complex web of grief tied in with losing my brother.

The Relevance of Love

There is a lovely songbird chirping outside as I write these words. It feels like a reminder to stay in tune with myself and sing my own song from a space of joy and purity.

There’s a lot going on in the world right now, and that, mixed with few personal incidents which popped up this week, left me feeling diffuse. As if my empathic energy field was a wooden boat with several holes, and I began to sink and soak in other’s energies at a faster rate than I could bail them out.

By the end of the week I felt a strong urge to return to nature, to return to myself, to return to my heart and the truth within.

We Are Our Own Experts: 3 Ways to Embrace Our Experience of Self

Carrying an invisible wound inside of yourself isn’t easy. When I lost my brother in 2016, I walked around for a long time afterwards feeling like half of my lungs had been ripped out.

I looked whole on the outside. Perhaps if you looked in my face you might see the stress lines and grief in my eyes, but otherwise my appearance showed nothing to indicate the deep suffering I felt inside.

8 Keys to Authentic Living

Last month I had the honor of being onstage in Anchorage, Alaska, giving the talk, “Transform Your Heart. Transform Your World: 8 keys to unlocking the true self.”

Being a spiritual being on a human journey is hard, and I love developing vocabulary and ideas, that illuminate my own understanding and also help support others on their path. Transform Your Heart is part of that mission and purpose, and I hope to soon give the the talk on Kauai as well.

The Journey of Self-Love: Everybody’s Map Will Look Different

Mapping out the path to self-love is not something that comes with a detailed route or an instruction guide. There’s not a step by step process for how we arrive at a space of self-love. In part, because by the time we arrive at our ‘destination,’ we will discover we have further to go.

Self-love is an endless spiral, where we continue to circle deeper within, as we grow, change, and find new ways to love ourselves whole throughout our lifespan.

Turning Point: A Solstice Message

A special message from the angles for solstice 2019.

The energy of Solstice 2019 is characterized by a turning point.

It is a time of retreat, stillness and rest in the Northern hemispheres, and light and movement in the Southern. But for all of humanity, the common theme is choices and moving in a direction that continues to align you with what you already know.

Embodying Intuition: 17 Keys for an Intuitive You

It began with an epiphany.

I recently had searing clarity surrounding my life path: I teach others how to embody intuitive living.

It sounds so simple when you distill it, yet it took me two years of wandering through my inner soul-wilderness on the island of Kauai to fully see: everything I write, create, jot, muse, imagine, teach, draw, speak- everything I AM- all traces back to being a teacher of intuitive living.

Reclaiming a Grateful Heart

Recently I had a realization.

It felt icky and uncomfortable, and there it was anyways.

I realized that I had not been making space for gratitude and that appreciation had weakened in my life, because I get so wrapped up in my personal journey and goals that I miss THE journey.

New Breeze

The sun is peeking through the dappled jungle green, the family is still sleeping tucked into a cozy bundle of human and fur, and I’ve been quietly sipping coffee and contemplating turning 42 today.

It wasn’t that long ago that I was contemplating turning 40.
